Make your American Girl Dolls some cute Spiderweb cookies for Halloween. These are easy to make with a bit of craft foam and some paint!
As much as I love crafting AG doll food from polymer clay, sometimes my daughters want a doll craft that is a little bit simpler.
So we came up with these cute spiderweb cookies made from craft foam. I make iced spiderweb cookies every Halloween for my kids, so I thought it would be fun to craft some for their American Girl dolls too.

Materials needed for this AG doll food tutorial:
- Tan Craft Foam (This is a great project to use up scraps)
- Pen
- Bottle Cap or something else approx. 3/4 inch in size to trace the cookie shape
- Scissors
- White Acrylic Paint
- Paintbrush
- Fine Tip Sharpie Pen
Tan Craft FoamApple Barrel White Acrylic Paint
Fiskars Non-stick Titaniam Scissors

Start by tracing circles on your craft foam, using the bottle cap. You can space these pretty close together. Don’t ask me what that piece is that I am using. I think it was part of an old mini flashlight. I found it in our odds and ends box and it was the right size!
Cut out the circles, just inside the pen line. You don’t want any pen lines showing on your finished cookies. Try to get them as round as possible, but if you can’t that’s ok too! Real homemade cookies aren’t perfectly round either 🙂
Next we are going to paint the cookies, so be sure to lay down some newspaper to protect from any spills. Pour out a small amount of white acrylic paint on a small paper plate. Use the paint to “ice” the cookies.
You want to leave a small border of tan showing around the edge, just like they do with real cookies. Set aside to dry. I did a second coat on mine to make sure there wasn’t any tan peeking through the white.
After the cookies are completely dry, use the Sharpie pen to draw on your spiderwebs. I started with an X and a + in the center, then drew the webs. Be sure to use a light touch with the pen so you don’t scrape away a layer of paint.
That’s all there is too it! Be sure to wash out your paint brush when you are done so you can use it for your next project.
Slowly, but surely, we are getting our crafts made for my daughters’ Dolloween Party. In case you missed it, be sure to check out the tutorial for doll-sized lollipops made from polymer clay. My daughters still want to make caramel apples, spooky candles, and some doll-sized drinks.
